Things have not been the same ever since Steve Jobs passed. The motivation isn’t the same. There is not as much innovation, no new projects to dream of, no more dings in the universe, just profiting from the old ones.
The thrill is gone.
We won’t criticize you for gaining back those extra pounds. There is happiness in food, also consolation. Without Steve, what’s the point of being vegan, right? Besides, hanging out with Norman Foster, who is a fan of good eating, doesn’t help (We know your little secret, yes, when you too went for churros and ibérico ham in Madrid).
We understand that one gets tired of the same cold aluminimalism again and again, and that you have all the right to long for the sumptuous details of your Bentleys, all warm leather and shiny chromed details.
We also get that the dark t-shirt is not an outfit forever, and that you, being a Knight of the British Empire, have every right to dress a little bit more fancy.
We understand, really.
We don’t quite get why you and your pal Marc Newson designed a Christmas tree was… well, just a tree. Was that a joke? Were you actually serious?
Look me in the eye and tell me you’re not following the steps of our also beloved Dieter Rams, going from minimalism to hedonism, from “less but better” to “shirtless better”.
Steve Jobs said that a computer is a bicycle for the mind, which at the time sounded interesting. But… The mind? A bicycle? Really? How limited was that, right? Where’s happiness in that formula? Where’s pleasure?
Things have changed, right? But we still love you, Jony. In fact we love you even more now, you’re more like us. That’s why we made this sticker pack as a sign of understanding and admiration.
